Maranges Premier Cru "Le Clos des Loyères"
CÔTE DE BEAUNE
Behind its dark color, this Pinot Noir hides aromas of black fruit, red flowers and sweet spices. The same flavors burst in the mouth, highlighting the personality of this elegant and perfectly balanced wine. The tannins are silky, while the oak is well integrated. The finish, long and full, gives an unusual airiness for this vintage.
Located in the very south of the Côte de Beaune, right next to Santenay, Maranges “Le Clos des Loyères” marly-clay and limestone- rich soils produce a Pinot Noir bursting with freshness, energy, and length. Created in 1988, the Maranges appellation includes three villages - Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, and Sampigny-lès-Maranges - and holds seven Premiers Crus.
