Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
CÔTE DE NUITS
With a clear, medium ruby color, our Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 embodies the essence of Pinot Noir.
Tasting Note
The nose shows intense aromas of ripe and cooked fruits, such as plums and strawberry jam, as well as notes of sweet spices like vanilla and cinnamon. The palate confirms these flavors and reveals hints of dry flowers, fur, and wild animality. With a long finish and pronounced tannins, this red wine will evolve over the decades to come.
Terroir
Only 8.27 hectares in size, Mazis-Chambertin is one of the most northern Grand Cru in Côte de Nuits. The fossil-rich soils of hard rock produce an energetic, full-bodied and elegant Pinot Noir. Located on two climats of Gevrey-Chambertin, “Mazis-Haut” and “Mazis-Bas”, this Grand Cru was made for aging: it will take years to reach its best and reveal its full potential for complexity.
Winemaking
Placed in French oak barrels for aging on fine lees. Not filtered.
