This wine is made of 100% Viognier grapes coming all from our Estate. The wine is full bodied, creamy, rich and complex. With a dark straw colour this wine entices you to explore. On the nose it’s filled with buttery/vanilla notes, peach blossoms and apricots. The palate is filled with seamlessly integrated buttery and fresh fruit flavours.
After harvesting the grapes, the juice is put into French oak barrels and here the wine is fermented and aged for 6 months. On a weekly basis the wine was batonnaged to give a rich and complex mouth feel. After 6 months all of the barrelled components are tasted and then the best two barrels are kept aside to be aged for a further 6 months.
Paired with lightly curried fish, buttered chicken, veal with morels or medium matured hard cheeses.
Nice to drink now and can age up to 10 years. After 5 years the wine develops a different aromatic.
